Software Engineering Internships at NVIDIA
As a Software Engineering Intern at NVIDIA, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the design and development of software solutions in various cutting-edge areas, including Chip Resource Management, Graphics, Video, 2D and 3D graphics under OpenGL and DirectX, ISP, and driver stacks for Windows and Linux operating systems. We are looking for interns who are deeply passionate about working at the intersection of leading-edge graphics, multimedia, and operating system software.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding Principles of Hardware Operation: This includes delving into CPU and memory architecture, buses, and interconnects. Your role will involve understanding the fundamental aspects of how hardware components function and interact.
- Grasping Operating System Fundamentals: You’ll be exposed to key concepts like multi-processing and scheduling, memory management, privilege modes, file systems, and device drivers. An in-depth understanding of how operating systems work is crucial.
- Proficiency in Algorithms and Data Structures: The role will require you to apply algorithms and data structures to solve complex problems efficiently.
- Principles of Parallel Computing: In the world of modern computing, parallel computing is fundamental. You’ll work on solutions that harness the power of parallelism for improved performance.
- C and/or C++ Programming Languages: Proficiency in programming languages like C and C++ is essential for software development, and you’ll have the opportunity to hone your skills.
- Python/PERL Knowledge: While not mandatory, knowledge of Python and PERL is preferred, as these scripting languages play a crucial role in various software development tasks.
Qualifications:
- Strong academic background.
- Currently pursuing an M.Tech/BTech in Computer Science or Electronics and Communication.
- A solid understanding of programming languages and processor architecture.
- Strong knowledge of Operating System Fundamentals.
- Knowledge of the Linux kernel is a plus.
- Proficient in C/C++ programming.
- Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming is highly advantageous in languages like C/C++ or Java, and familiarity with scripting (Perl or Python) is also beneficial.
- Experience or exposure to Digital Systems, Computer Architecture, Computer Arithmetic, Software Engineering, C & C++ programming languages, assembly language programming, system-level integration, and system-level programming is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability and willingness to work as a team player are essential.
